About the Young Lawyers Division
This year’s 2011-2012 Young Lawyers Division (YLD) has been incredibly active this year. With the Public Education Committee’s partnership with the students of Highlandtown’s Gifted and Talented Program. They are spending the year going through a Mock investigation and trial following the facts of People v. Woodson. The case concerns an assault which occurs in an alley next to a school. The Public Education Committee has partnered with the Baltimore City Police and Baltimore City’s Public School System to create an exciting year long program!
The Public Service Committee has been working hard to plan the upcoming Holiday Party for At-Risk kids to be held this December 13 at the Maryland Science Center. Past events have including local leaders like the Mayor of Baltimore City, sports stars and other elected officials. This year’s planning is fast underway and coming together quickly.
The Continuing Legal Education Committee is working hard to bring informative and substantive events almost every month. The most popular Breakfast with the Bench is free for BABC YLD members and includes breakfast and informative question and answer sessions with prominent judges of the Baltimore City Circuit and District Court.
The YLD has already hosted several networking events including one at Little Havana in Federal Hill and an upcoming event at Maxx’s Taphouse in Fells Point.
These are just a few of the events happening right now. For more information on past events, including pictures or to find about future events check out our facebook page or feel free to contact a member of the YLD Council to see how you can get involved!
