This Young Lawyers Division (YLD) is incredibly active. Through it’s Public Education Committee’s partnership with the students of Highlandtown’s Gifted and Talented Program, they recently conducted a Mock investigation and trial following the facts of People v. Woodson. The case concerned an assault which occurs in an alley next to a school.
The Public Service Committee works hard to plan the YLD’s annual Holiday Party for Homeless Children. Past events have included appearances by local leaders such as the Mayor of Baltimore City, sports stars and other elected officials. This year’s planning is fast underway and coming together quickly.
The Continuing Legal Education Committee is working hard to bring informative and substantive events almost every month. The most popular Breakfast with the Bench is free for BABC YLD members and includes breakfast and informative question and answer sessions with prominent judges of the Baltimore City Circuit and District Court.
The YLD has already hosted several networking events. These are just a few of the events happening right now. For more information on past events, including pictures, or to find out about future events check out our Facebook page or feel free to contact a member of the YLD Council to see how you can get involved!
The YLD is also active on Linkedin, which is a great resource to connect with other young lawyers in your practice area and Twitter for short up-to-the-minute notices about local YLD activities and events.
