ANNOUNCES 2005 PRESIDENTIAL, DORSEY, AND BRENT-MITCHELL
AWARDS TO BE PRESENTED AT PAST PRESIDENTS’ LUNCHEON
ON NOVEMBER 22, 2005
The Bar Association of Baltimore City’s 11th Annual
Past Presidents Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, November
22, 2005, at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore at 11:30 a.m.
The BABC has selected the recipients of the 2005 Presidential,
Charles H. Dorsey, Jr., and Margaret Brent-Juanita Jackson
Mitchell Awards. These awards will be presented at the
Past Presidents’ Luncheon.
Charles H. Blomquist, Esquire, and Vasilios Peros, Esquire,
are the recipients of the 2005 Presidential Awards presented
annually to BABC members who have selflessly given their
time and energy serving both the Bar Association and the
community. Mr. Blomquist is an Assistant State’s
Attorney for Baltimore City. Mr. Peros is an Associate
at the firm of Venable, LLP.
This year’s Charles H. Dorsey, Jr., Mentor Award
will be presented to Ober/Kaler partner Pamela J. White,
Esquire. The Dorsey Award is presented to a member of the
BABC who has served as a longtime mentor or teacher of
other lawyers and, by example, has demonstrated a commitment
to the community of lawyers by following the precept that
the practice of law is a “noble and learned profession.”
The 2005 Margaret Brent-Juanita Jackson Mitchell Award
will be presented to The Honorable Pamila J. Brown. The
Brent-Mitchell Award was established to recognize women
lawyers and judges who exemplify the pioneer spirit of
Margaret Brent and Juanita Jackson Mitchell, who have achieved
a high degree of success in the field of law, and who have
paved the way for women in the law. Judge Brown is an Associate
Judge on the District Court for Howard County and is a
Past President of the Bar Association of Baltimore City.
Tickets for the Past Presidents’ Luncheon are $55
per person and are available through Bar headquarters.
