DELEGATE MAGGIE McINTOSH TO SPEAK AT THE 126TH ANNUAL MEETING OF THE BAR ASSOCIATION OF BALTIMORE CITY

Delegate McIntosh, from Baltimore 's 43 rd District, will address the Annual Meeting of the Bar Association of Baltimore City on Thursday, June 1, 2006, at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel, 202 East Pratt Street . A cocktail reception will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by the dinner program at 6:00 p.m.

Delegate McIntosh has been a member of the House of Delegates since 1992. She currently chairs the Environmental Matters Committee, and serves on the Rules and Executive Nominations Committee, Legislative Policy Committee, and the Special Joint Committee on State Employee Rights and Protections. She is also House Co-Chair of the Joint Commission on the Maryland Port Administration.

The BABC's Annual Meeting also features installation of new officers: President, Mark F. Scurti, Scurti & Gulling, P.A.; President-Elect, Christopher R. West, Semmes, Bowen & Semmes; Vice President, Thomas J.S. Waxter, III, Goodell, DeVries, Leech & Dann, LLP; Treasurer, Mary Alice Smolarek, Wright, Constable & Skeen, L.L.P.; Secretary, Hon. Lynn K. Stewart, Circuit Court for Baltimore City; YLD Chair, C. Drew Fritch, Cardaro & Peek, LLC; and, YLD Chair-Elect, Mollie G. Shuman, Wright, Constable & Skeen, L.L.P. Thomas J.S. Waxter, III, will also be installed as President of the Baltimore Bar Foundation, Inc. The Association will be celebrating several firsts in 2006-07, including the 50 th anniversary of the admission of its first female member.

The Bar Association of Baltimore City is the first Bar Association formed in the State of Maryland and one of the oldest in the nation. Incorporated in 1880 “to aid in maintaining the honor and dignity of the profession, to promote legal science, and to further the administration of justice,” the BABC remains a moving force in the legal affairs of the Baltimore area.
